If you would like to enjoy the flavors of Japan without having to dust off your passport, visit one of the following restaurants where the chefs prepare everything from dragon rolls to teriyaki chicken:
The Bistro Dragon is where Executive Chef Chen prepares innovative dishes using the finest ingredients. He has studied Japanese and Chinese fusion cuisine from coast to coast and offers something for everyone. The sophisticated dining room features bamboo and rich woods, and every detail was thoughtfully designed to create an intimate dining experience. Start with the pork potstickers before enjoying a signature entree such as lemon sesame chicken, Sichuan spicy fish, or crispy honey flank steak.
Friends Shawn Li and Ben Li met during culinary school. They traveled nearly 8000 miles from Chong Ching, China to Chicago where they opened a restaurant featuring Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Shawn and Ben are passionate about the art of sushi and enjoy preparing meals with traditional flavors. Rolls include volcano, tuna poke, and crunchy lobster. All pair well with a bowl of chicken dumpling or spicy beef noodle soup.
Open daily for lunch and dinner, the Tokio Pub provides a unique blend of Japanese, Latin, and American cuisine. It offers an edgy atmosphere with urban warehouse decor and is where many locals enjoy a meal before spending a night on the town. Happy hour is held daily from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and it offers great deals on drinks and appetizers. The regular menu features Japanese-style ramen, crispy fish, red dragon rolls, and much more. Diners with a sweet tooth don’t want to miss the coconut and pineapple ice cream.
